A little Harp music / Cerddoriaeth o'r delyn

On Monday the 16th June, most residents and a welcome group of the Friends of Bodlondeb were treated to a harp recital by a young lady who is training at the famous Gregynog Hall, Tregynon, thanks to the benevolence of sisters Gwendoline and Margaret Davies, who donated their magnificent home for this purpose.

Harriet Earis, the young harpist, was a credit to Gregynog and she not only played a variety of tunes, she also talked about the pieces she played, which included some interesting information.

She ended her session with a generous invitation for the members of the audience to experience trying to handle the harp strings. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to her and her companion who travelled with her. We wish them well.

Ar ddydd Llun yr 16eg o Fehefin, daeth trigolion Bodlondeb a grŵp o'r Ffrindiau Bodlondeb at ei gilydd i glywed cyngerdd gan fenyw ifanc yn canu'r delyn. Mae hi'n cael ei ddysgu mewn lle enwog, sef Neuadd Gregynog, Tregynon, a'i cafodd ei rhoi fel canolfan dysgu cerddoriaeth gan chwiorydd Gwendoline a Margaret Davies.

Chwaraeodd Harriet Earis, y delynores ifanc, amrywiaeth o ganeuon ar gyfer y delyn. Siaradodd hi hefyd am y darnau – roedd y wybodaeth hon yn ddiddorol iawn.

Caeodd hi'r sesiwn gyda gwahoddiad i'r gynulleidfa cael profiad o ganu'r delyn gan dynnu'r tannau. Hoffem roi ein diolch iddi hi a'i ffrind a ddaeth gyda hi. Bob hwyl iddynt.

FairTrade at Bodlondeb / Masnach Deg ym Modlondeb

On Tuesday 5th February a Fair Trade event was held at Bodlondeb The guest speaker was Mrs Jen Horgan .The groups aim is to point out that much of the food that we buy cheaply is at the expense of the producers and especially their labourers . This is a fact that we should consider when we do our shopping. A generous supply of very attractive food was provided by Ymlaen Ceredigion, it was enjoyed and appreciated by all. The residents unable to attend were not forgotten, a trolley loaded with fruit and treats was taken upstairs to let them choose what they liked..We were grateful for this consideration and our thanks go to the speaker and Ymlaen Ceredigion for an enlightening and enjoyable morning.
Ar ddydd Mawrth y 5ed o Chwefror cafodd digwyddiad Masnach Deg ei chynnal ym Modlondeb. Y siaradwr gwadd oedd Mrs. Jen Horgan. Amcan y grŵp yw dangos y ffaith bod llawer o'r bwyd rydym yn prynu yn rhad ar draul y cynhyrchwyr ac enwedig eu gweithwyr. Dylem ystyried y faith hon pan rydym yn siopa. Rhoddodd Ymlaen Ceredigion cyflenwad hael o fwyd deniadol a chafodd ei mwynhau a gwerthfawrogi gan bawb. Aeth troli llawn o ffrwythau a phethau blasus lan lofft i'r trigolion ni allodd bod yn bresennol, er mwyn iddynt ddewis pa beth yr hoffant. Rydym yn ddiolchgar am yr ystyriaeth hon ac yn rhoi diolch i'r siaradwr gwadd ac Ymlaen Ceredigion am fore diddorol a bleserus.

Christmas Party Fun! / Parti Hwylus Nadolig!

Residents and the Friends of Bodlondeb came together for their annual Christmas party. Residents were served drinks by the Friends, while Gareth (the new Manager) went round with warm mince pies. Some of the Home's staff came to join in the Carol singing and then came the surprise – Father Christmas turned up or should that have been Mrs Christmas, as it turned out to be newly retired Mrs Janice Petche. After the laughter had died down, Janice went round with a present, given by the Friends, for every Resident. The Friends of Bodlondeb then presented to Gareth, a gift for the Home – a digital camera, camera case and tripod – so that Residents and the Home can continue to keep a record of events, functions and any other items of interest.

Daeth trigolion a Ffrindiau Bodlondeb at ei gilydd i ddathlu eu parti Nadolig. Gweiniodd y diodydd gan y Ffrindiau i'r trigolion, tra i Gareth (y rheolwr newydd) mynd o gwmpas gyda mins peis cynnes. Daeth rhai o'r staff y Cartref mewn i ymuno yn y canu Carolau ac yna cafodd pawb syndod mawr daeth Siôn Gorn mewn neu efallai dyle hwnna bod Mrs Corn, achos roedd Mrs Janice Petche (newydd wedi ymddeol fel rheolwraig y Cartref) wedi gwisgo fel Siôn Corn. Ar ôl i bawb gorffen chwerthin, aeth Janice o gwmpas gydag anrhegion i bob un o'r trigolion, oddi wrth Ffrindiau Bodlondeb. Wedyn, rhoddodd y Ffrindiau anrheg, ar gyfer y Cartref, i Gareth – camera digidol, cês camera a treipod – er mwyn i'r trigolion a'r Cartref cadw atgofion o ddigwyddiadau, achlysuron neu unrhyw eitemau o ddiddordeb.
